The Journey from Darkness to Joy in Life – "A Brutally Honest Story"
For twelve years, alcohol was a constant companion in Per Nohr's life. But he found a way out of addiction and reclaimed his life. In the exhibition "A Brutally Honest Story," Per openly and emotionally shares his journey from alcoholism to sobriety.
The exhibition addresses a profound societal issue through various forms of expression – a photo exhibition, lectures, a book, and conversations – which together create a powerful, sensory experience. Photographer Peter Anand Ullberg has spent two years capturing Per's struggle and recovery through photographs that have not only documented but also served as a therapeutic tool.
The entire exhibition was photographed using a pinhole camera – camera obscura – which adds an extra dimension to the meetings. Here, you can view selected images from the emotional journey and gain a deeper understanding of Per's courage in sharing his story.
